Learn to Dive - PADI & SSI Dive Courses on Lembongan Bali
We offer a wide range of PADI & SSI dive courses to suit all abilities. We can provide course materials in a variety of languages and our instructors are able to teach courses in English, French, German and Swiss German. All prices are quoted in Indonesian Rupiah and include equipment use, instruction, local taxes, the use of dive manuals & certification fee (except for the Divemaster course).
PADI or SSI?
There is virtually no difference at all between PADI and SSI dive courses. Both are controlled by the World Recreational Scuba Training Council and so content is standardised. Your diving certification will be recognised world-wide and is inter-changeable with any dive agency.
The only real difference is that while SSI courses contain the same content and skills, they allow more flexibility, so we can tailor the course directly to your needs and speed of learning. This is one of the reasons we actually prefer to teach SSI courses. SSI (now the 2nd largest training agency in the World) is also more environmentally friendly, so we can loan you a dive manual for the duration of your course and you receive lifetime access to all of the information online whenever you need it. You can do the theory online in advance for free (for PADI courses the cost is $120) and we give you your actual certification card on the last day of the course, so you no longer have to wait!
Introductory Dive: ½day, Rp 500,000
This programme is ideal for those who have limited time, or who are not sure whether diving is for them. After a short safety briefing you will learn a couple of skills in shallow water to increase your confidence, before continuing on your first dive in beautiful Lembongan Bay. A perfect experience to remember in years to come – or if you enjoyed it that much, count it towards your Open Water Diver course and get certified!!
Scuba Diver: 2 days, Rp 2,500,000
If you don’t have 3-4 days to spare for the full Open Water certification, you can do the Scuba Diver course instead. This represents half of the Open Water course and afterwards you are certified to dive to 12m with a buddy. It takes just 2 days to complete and you can upgrade your certification to the full Open Water certification at any time. For this course, you will have a skills session in shallow water to give you the knowledge and confidence to relax and enjoy your 2 action packed dives. There is also a certain amount of theory work involved; you will be required to read your manual and answer a few questions for each chapter before discussing them with your instructor. A short quiz and DVD accompany each chapter.
Open Water Diver: 3-4 days, Rp 3,500,000
New to diving? Then the world’s most popular entry level / beginner course is ideal for you. Once completed, the PADI or SSI Open Water certification allows you to dive to 18m with somebody of a similar or higher qualification. Theory work and skills in shallow water give you the knowledge and confidence to relax and enjoy your 4 action packed open water dives. You should learn to dive in just 3-4 days, although everything is taken at your own pace. There is a certain amount of self study involved, as you will be required to read your manual and answer a few questions for each chapter before discussing them with your instructor. A short quiz and DVD accompany each chapter, ending with a straight forward final exam at the end of the course. Advanced Open Water Diver: 2-3 days, Rp 2,500,000
18m not enough for you? During the Advanced Open Water course you will complete 2 core dives: deep and navigation, plus an additional 3 that you choose from the list below. By the end of the course you will be certified to dive to 30m and should be comfortable diving in a range of environments.
At Big Fish we offer drift diving, multilevel and computer diving, underwater photography, peak performance buoyancy, night diving, underwater naturalist and Fish ID. The great thing about the advanced course is that there are no exams or skill sessions – just discuss the theory with your instructor and then enjoy putting it all into practice on an open water dive!
Emergency First Response: 1 day, Rp 1,000,000
This comprehensive first aid programme is a pre-requisite for the Rescue Diver course, although it can be completed earlier in your training and is also available to non-divers. It provides a thorough insight into Emergency First Aid and Secondary Care. This is a thoroughly worthwhile programme, which takes just a day and will have you learning and practicing essential skills, then putting it all into action with a few staged scenarios.
Rescue Diver: 4 days, Rp3,500,000
Many people feel the Rescue Diver course is the most fun they have ever had in a learning environment. After the Open Water and Advanced courses which are very much focused upon your own diving skills, you are now required to think about others while underwater. Skills include assisting a panicked diver, dealing with an unconscious diver, missing diver searches and providing emergency oxygen. We try to intersperse theory sessions and skills training with realistic yet fun scenario practice, which will leave you breathless with exertion and yet knowledgeable and confident that you are capable to deal with a range of dive related emergencies and problems.
Divemaster: 4-6 weeks, Rp 8,000,000

Scuba Tune Up: 2-3hrs, Rp 250,000
The Tune Up is designed for certified divers who want to refresh their skills and theory before heading out into open water again. You will be reminded how to set up your dive gear, check your weighting and practice a few skills in shallow water. This will leave you reassured and ready to join the dive boat the following day.
