Fun Diving on Lembongan & Penida, Bali, Indonesia
The three islands of Nusa Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida offer some of the most exciting and rewarding diving in Indonesia, which sees divers returning year after year. As one of the country’s lesser known diving locations, the islands’ fringing reefs are in fantastic condition and are home to an incredible variety of marine life, both big and small. The area around Nusa Penida is now a marine protected area.
From vast sloping reefs and steep drop-offs to sheltered bays, from exhilarating rides on ocean currents to lazy explorations of the reefs, from mola molas and manta rays to nemos and mantis shrimp - the diving is as varied and rich as the culture of the islands and the people themselves.
Average Visibility: 20 - 30m
Water Temperature: This varies considerably throughout the year and even changes from day to day. From January to July 25-29°C is normal and then the temperature begins to drop for the mola season, where 20-26°C is more common. By December the water warms up again.
Daily Dive Trips
Big Fish generally offer one dive trip per day, during which we make two dives at separate locations. The departure time depends to a large extent upon the currents, therefore changes from day to day but generally departing between 8am and 11am. We keep our group sizes small to ensure you get the most from your dive and are certain you’ll love our guides, who not only have plenty of experience, but warm personalities and big smiles to boot! Please note it is not possible to arrive from Bali and dive on the same day as generally our dive trip departs before the boats from Bali arrive to Lembongan.

| 1 dive only | Rp 350,000 |
| 2 - 3 dives | Rp 300,000 / dive |
| 4 - 7 dives | Rp 280,000 / dive |
| 8 + dives | Rp 260,000 / dive |
These prices includes full equipment hire, dive guide, snacks & drinks onboard and government tax. If you bring ALL your own equipment except tanks and weights we give an additional 10% off. The friendly atmosphere and general sense of enjoyment we throw in for free!
Manta Point Trips
When conditions allow and divers are willing, we put on special trips to dive Manta Point on the south western corner of Nusa Penida. Manta Point is a site that can be subject to swell, so Big Fish only operates trips there when this will not affect divers' enjoyment of the dive site (and boat ride out there!). We make one dive with the manta rays and a second dive at a different location on the way back to Lembongan. Manta Point trips take longer than normal because of the distance and are slightly more expensive to allow for extra fuel used, but are often the highlight of diving in the Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida region.
Please add Rp 50,000 per diver / snorkeller.
N.B. Prices are subject to change without prior notification.
Please Be Aware
There are no ATMs on Nusa Lembongan so remember to bring enough money with you for your stay. Here at Big Fish we prefer payment for accommodation and food in cash Rupiah, as we are far from banks. For your diving bill, we are happy to accept VISA or Mastercard (+3% charge), although we do ideally prefer payment in cash Rupiah or US Dollars.
