The three islands of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida, offer some of the most exciting and rewarding diving in Indonesia, which sees divers returning year after year. As one of the country’s lesser known diving locations, the islands’ fringing reefs are in fantastic condition and are home to an incredible variety of marine life, both big and small.
From vast sloping reefs and steep drop-offs to sheltered bays, from exhilarating rides on ocean currents to lazy explorations of the reefs, from mola molas and mantas to nemos and mantis shrimp - the diving is as varied and rich as the culture of the islands and the people themselves.
Average Visibility: 20 - 30m
Water Temperature: This varies considerably throughout the year and even changes from day to day. From January to August 25-29°C is normal and then the temperature begins to drop for the mola season, where 18-25°C is more common. By December the water warms up again.
Big Fish generally offer one dive trip per day, during which we make a dive at two separate locations. The departure time depends to a large extent upon the currents, therefore changes from day to day. We keep our group sizes small to ensure you get the most from your dive and are certain you’ll love our guides, who not only have plenty of experience, but warm personalities and big smiles to boot!
Price: US$35 per dive
4 dive package: 10% discount
8 dive package: 15% discount
12 dive package: 20% discount
These prices include full equipment hire, dive guide, snacks and drinks onboard and government tax. The friendly atmosphere and general sense of enjoyment we throw in for free!
When conditions allow and divers are willing, we put on special trips to dive Manta Point on the south western corner of Nusa Penida. Manta Point is a site that can be subject to swell, so Big Fish only operates trips there when this will not affect divers' enjoyment of the dive site (and boat ride out there!). We make one dive with the mantas and a second dive at a different location on the way back to Lembongan. Manta Point trips take longer than normal because of the distance and is slightly more expensive to allow for extra fuel used, but is often the highlight of diving in the Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida region.
Surcharge: US$10 incurred for the trip.
If you prefer to dive to your own schedule, or are part of a small group and would like something different, we are always happy to help organise private trips to suit your needs. Please contact us for more information.
Bali has some great dive sites and we are happy to organise diving over there for you. However if you are diving around Bali and want to experience the adventure of Nusa Lembongan and Penida diving, it really is worth coming over to Lembongan and basing yourself here, rather than organising day trips from Bali. The cost savings are quite substantial, you will be able to dive a wider range of sites and the island is definitely worth a visit!
N.B. Prices are subject to change without prior notification.
There are no ATMs on Nusa Lembongan so remember to bring enough money with you for your stay. Unfortunately Big Fish does not accept VISA right now, although we are happy for you to pay with US Dollars as well as Indonesian Rupiah.
