Only 20km from Bali lies the three island chain of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida. The most popular by far is Nusa Lembongan, where people come to enjoy the world class surfing and diving on offer, the quiet beaches and lazy island atmosphere. Most visitors to Nusa Lembongan stay at Jungutbatu on the west coast, which offers the best choice of accommodation of all standards, restaurants, local shops and internet access. Boats from Bali arrive and depart from Jungutbatu beach, though some also stop at Mushroom Bay, a pretty beach somewhat isolated from the main villages, where you can find small selection of hotels and bungalows for the more discerning traveller.
